They focus their energies, funds, staff, volunteers, and all their resources on trying to meet the needs of local communities. From animals to veterans, these nonprofits provide programs and services, which for the most part, support their local communities.

At the Chanda Plan, our mission is to support the Chanda Center for Health in delivering and advocating for integrative therapy, primary care, and other complementary services to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs for persons with physical disabilities. Our direct services include acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, adaptive exercise, physical therapy, adaptive yoga, care coordination, behavioral health, primary care, and dental care. Some services are provided at the Chanda Center for Health and some at provider locations nationwide. Integrative therapies promote wellness and healing for acute and chronic conditions caused by physical disabilities. Better health outcomes and lower medical bills galvanized our pursuit for systemic change to have integrative therapies covered by Medicaid.

In addition to providing direct assistance to thousands of veterans and first responders, we work to stop employers, health insurers, and the government from discriminating against cannabis users.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Colorado corporation. Organized in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to provide an alternative to shelter environments, A.R.R. has served this vision well. We’ve successfully provided foster homes and subsequent permanent homes to over 10,000 dogs and cats to date. We work with foster homes to give homeless pets the chance to socialize in a home environment. This gives them the advantage of transitioning to their new forever homes much more easily and quickly.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world, with more than 6.5 million members and supporters. PETA opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview, and focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of rodents, birds, and other animals who are often considered “pests” as well as cruelty to domesticated animals.

White Ribbon USA’s mission is to reduce and prevent domestic violence and engage more men supporting all efforts to end gender-based violence and discrimination towards women. We want to spread awareness to the public about the disturbing truths of domestic abuse, and take actionable steps to make domestic violence the exception, not the norm.
